I miss you guys! We're moved into our new place and love our new town. But we're on the waitlist for internet service. Someone in town has to move away OR switch internet providers before people on the waitlist move up and are eligible for a "port" --whatever that is. But evidently it is essential. Sigh. There are definite benefits to small town life, and definite not so beneficial bits.
I'm at the local coffee shop but since I also *work* online (long story, which I should really fill you in on one of these days) I've spent the past 2 hours actually working and not blogging.
I will compose some posts offline and publish them when I can, so I can keep you posted as we get used to our new digs. But rest assured that the new digs are awesome.
For example: the other day we drove 20 minutes up the road to Port Hardy to spend the afternoon/evening with the BB Voses. We spent a few hours milling around their town house complete with water balloon fight and bouncy ball chaos, and then went down to the beach, built driftwood forts, tossed rocks in the water, started a fire, and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for a few hours until it got too dark to see anymore. As we drove away Amarys kept repeating "I need go to beach!" Which in Amarys speak sounds a lot like I need to go pee. Somewhat confusing at first.
We didn't see anyone else the whole time, save the local hobo who was passing through. This is what we signed up for. Beach days. And financial room to breathe.
The first time I went to the grocery store after we got here, I almost cried. I just bought stuff we needed and didn't have to worry about it. After 2 years of creative budgeting and bare bones groceries, that was a luxury I was very grateful for.
The kids are good. They love it too =)
Gotta go home but more soon! Complete with pictures!
